For twenty years, from 1997-2017, the Pacific Islands Report (PIR) was one of the most widely used news sites on the Pacific Islands. Government representatives, scholars, and the general public from around the world used the PIR archive as a comprehensive resource for information about political events, economic developments, and social issues that have defined the Pacific region in the twenty-first century.
