The Gary S.H. Lin Fellowship provides up to 24 months of funding to pursue master's or doctoral study at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa and to participate in the educational, cultural, residential community building, and leadership development programs at the East-West Center.

Applicants must be from Taiwan. Preference is given to those who have an outstanding academic record and financial need.

Mr. Gary S.H. Lin was a degree scholarship awardee at the East-West Center from 1965 to 1967. After returning to Taiwan, he launched a successful career in information technology. Mr. Lin considers his experience at the East-West Center to have transformed his life, and hopes that his scholarship will contribute to the Center’s efforts to provide ambitious and promising students from Taiwan with the knowledge and skills that will enable them to promote the welfare of people around the world.
