Christopher Edmonds is currently an Assistant Specialist (Economist) at University of Hawaii-Manoa's Center on the Family in the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources. In March 2009, he left his post as Senior Economist in the Strategy and Policy Department at the Asian Development Bank, where he was the focal person on performance-based allocation of concessionary loans and grants, and country performance assessment. Previously, he worked in ADB operations in China and Mongolia where he was responsible for the development and implementation of technical assistance and development projects in the rural development, natural resource management, and environment areas. He was a fellow in the Economics Study Area of the Center's Research Program from August 2003 to November 2006. Before joining the Center in 2003, he worked in the Economics Research Department of the Asian Development Bank in Manila, and was an affiliate scientist in the Social Science Research Division of the International Rice Research Institute in Los Baños, Philippines. He has also worked as a policy analyst for Abt Associates, SRI International, and the National Opinion Research Center. He holds a Ph.D. in Agriculture and Resource Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and masters degrees from UC-Berkeley and the University of Chicago.
