Geoffrey White is a professor of anthropology at the University of Hawai‘i. He is co-editor of the East-West Center book series, Contemporary Issues in Asia and the Pacific, published by Stanford University Press. He is also on the editorial boards of American Ethnologist, Ethos, and The Contemporary Pacific. His work at the East-West Center is concerned with cultural politics in the Pacific islands region as well as national memories of the Pacific War. His work includes organizing educational programs to promote international dialogue on teaching about the Pacific War. He holds a Ph.D. in anthropology from the University of California at San Diego.
