Chapter Activities
Barbara Stumph, Chapter Coordinator of the EWCA Northern California Chapter, attended the EWCA Northern California event cosponsored with the Asia Society and others entitled, "A New Era for Taiwan-PRC Relations" on May 28, 2009. Four panelist representing academia, business, and government were carefully selected by the Asia Society for an insightful discussion on this sensitive topic. Barbara Stumph, Chapter Coordinator of the EWCA Northern California Chapter, attended the “Panel Discussion: The Future of Democracy in Northeast Asia” on January 20th. The event was co-sponsored by the Asia Foundation, Asia Society of Northern CA, Business Executives for National Security, East-West Center Association of Northern CA, Japan Society of Northern CA, UC Berkeley Institute of East Asian Studies, USF Center for Pacific Rim, and World Affairs Council of Northern CA. Chapter Information
The Chapter was established in 1990.
The Chapter had a co-sponsored event with the Asia Society in April 2007 on "Coal, Oil, and Renewable Resources in China." Gordon Ring is working with the Chapter to coordinate activities as an adviser.
Chapter leader Barbara Stumph and Vinod Varma met to discuss EWCA Chapter activities on July 28, 2007. The topics discussed were networking with new members, improving communication among alumni, issue of shortage of human resources to carry out Chapter activities, among others.
