EWCA and EWC Honors and Awards

Alumni, Chapters and Volunteers are honored every two years with three EWCA awards and one EWC award.

EWCA Outstanding Chapter Award

This award recognizes outstanding EWCA Chapters which have provided significant contributions to the goals and programs of EWCA.This award was first presented in July, 2000 at the EWC/EWCA International Conference. The first recipient, the EWCA Philippines Chapter, was honored for hosting the 1999 EWCA Regional Conference in Manila and for a wide variety of programs and services it has provided to its members.

EWCA Outstanding Volunteer Award

This award recognizes outstanding alumni volunteers who have provided significant contributions to the programs and activities of the East-West Center Association. This award was first presented in July 2000 at the EWC/EWCA International Conference. The first recipient, Vicki Shambaugh was honored for her long and distinguished service to the EWCA Executive Board on which she served as both President and Secretary.

EWCA 21st Century Outstanding Service Award

This newly established EWCA award recognizes East-West Center participants whose initial involvement in an EWC program was since 2000 and has provided outstanding service to the community.  The first recipient was presented this award at the 2016 International Conference in Manila.

EWC Distinguished Alumni Award

This award honors former East-West Center participants for exceptional accomplishments in their professions and contributions to East-West relations and understanding. The award was established by an endowment fund donated by the late Dr. Dai-Ho Chun, former director of the Center's Institute of Technical Interchange.
