Support the EWCA

The East-West Center is unique among international institutions in its focus on community building at the campus level as a stepping-stone to community building at the regional level.

Living and working together, students share an emphasis on the value of international dialogue on critical issues of common concern throughout the Asia Pacific region. Although they each return to their own country and/or community, they take with them international outlooks and bonds that last a lifetime.

YOUR GIFT helps the East-West Center make these transformational educational programs accessible to all qualified students, regardless of their economic resources.

Alumni Scholarship Fund
All alumni are welcome to designate their gifts to the Alumni Scholarship Fund. Proceeds from the Silent Auction at the Foundation's annual dinner also enhance this fund. All degree-seeking graduate students are eligible. Because this is not an endowment, gifts to the fund are available for immediate use.

Alumni Endowment Fund
EWC alumni established this endowment fund to support student scholarships as their legacy to help future generations of students participate in EWC education programs. All contributions are welcome. Contributions of $1,000 or more can be made in the form of cash, bequest/trust, appreciated securities, or life insurance. The funds are placed in the EWC Foundation's Endowment Fund, and held in perpetuity. Income from the investment of these funds is used to fund student scholarships.

George R. Ariyoshi Fund
This fund honoring America's first governor of Japanese ancestry was established through generous grants from the Hawai'i Pacific Rim Society. The George R. Ariyoshi Fund provides financial support to students who may need additional assistance with airfare, housing or living expenses.

The Nainoa Thompson Fund
The Nainoa Thompson Fund was established by the Asia Pacific Leadership Program Class of 2005 as a Legacy Project in honor of Hawaiian master navigator, Nainoa Thompson. The fund provides scholarship support to meritorious APLP fellows who are unable to meet the full cost of program participation.

There is no single institution, by mission, current work program, staffing, and location more suited for the task of Asia Pacific community building. Your donations will help the East-West Center build a sounder financial base and help us to accomplish our critical mission.
