2009 USTL FINALISTS
The East-West Center is pleased to announce that the five finalists for the U.S.—Timor-Leste (USTL) Scholarship Program have been selected.
Finalists and Major Field of Study
- Ms. Maria Celeste Da Costa Alves - BA candidate in Natural Resources and Environmental Management
- Mr. Leoneto Elizário - BA candidate in Agriculture (Animal Science)
- Mr. Jonas Floriano Guterres Correia - BA candidate in International Relations
- Ms. Ana Mendes Pinto Da Silva - BA candidate in Sociology
- Mr. Celestino Ximenes - BA candidate in Political Science
The USTL Scholarship Program received many strong applications this year, and the East-West Center would like to congratulate all five finalists and wish them well as they begin their studies in the United States in January 2010.
The next round of competition will be held beginning in summer 2010 for new USTL scholarships that will begin in 2011.
