EWC Alumni, Associates and Friends will gather at this annual dinner to strengthen friendships within an ever-growing EWC global community! Please join us for an enjoyable evening of socializing with all of your EWC friends, both old and new!
This year, Ambassador Charles B. Salmon, Jr. will be the recipient of the annual EWCA Hawaii Chapter Outstanding Service Award. Ambassador Salmon was Foreign Policy Advisor to the Commander in Chief, U.S. Pacific Command. Prior assignments were in Vientiane, Laos, serving as the American Ambassador, and also as Director, Office of Philippine Affairs, Office of Thailand and Burma Affairs, as well as the Office of Human Rights in the Department of State. With assignments in Burma, New Zealand, Austria, Vietnam, Netherlands and Philippines he has had a long career of distinguished service. Currently, he is a member of the Board of Directors for the Friends of the East-West Center and a member of the EWC Student Mentoring and Matching Committee. An active alumnus, he is continually giving back to the EWC.
Funds raised from this event go to EWC student travel scholarships that enable students to attend professional conferences. The program features an excellent buffet dinner, art bazaar, an auction of Southeast Asian art, and cultural performances by EWC students.
