This annual forum, established by Chaminade University to increase awareness of China's social and economic dynamics, explores China's emergent version of capitalism. This year's program is co-sponsored by the East-West Center.

Keynote speaker Chandran Nair is founder and CEO of the Global Institute for Tomorrow (GIFT), an independent social venture think tank on the impacts of globalization. Mr. Nair was chairman of Environmental Resources Management (ERM), building it into Asia's leading environmental consultancy. For more than a decade, in advising governments and multi-national corporations, he has strongly advocated a more sustainable approach to development in Asia. He is the author of Consumptionomics: Asia's Role in Reshaping Capitalism and Saving the Planet.
