South Asia Visiting Fellowship Recipients

2007

Dr. Senthil Ram Anthiyur-Ganesan conducted research on "Negotiating with the Naxalites: Transformation of Revolutionary Terrorism in the Indian Subcontinent."  He earned his Ph.D. from Jawaharlal Nehru University and is currently a Researcher in the School of Social Sciences, Media, and Communication at the University of Wollongong, Australia.

2006

Dr. K.Y. Ratnam received his Ph.D. from Jawaharlal Nehru University and is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Political Science at the University of Hyderabad.  He conducted research on "Dalit Movement as a Democratizing Process in Andhra Pradesh.”

2005

Dr. Manoharan Nagaioh received his Ph.D. from Jawaharlal Nehru University in 2003.  He is currently a Senior Fellow at the Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies in New Delhi.  While in residence in Washington, DC, Dr. Nagaioh pursued his study of “Efficacy of Anti-terror Legislation in Developing Democracies: The Sri Lankan Case.”

Dr. Ronojoy Sen received his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 2005.  He is currently Assistant Editor with The Times of India.  During his residence in DC, Dr. Sen focused his research on “Legalizing Religion: The Indian Supreme Court and Homogenization of the Nation.”

Institutional affiliations were accurate as of the time of residency but may be outdated.
