Join the Asia Pacific Center for Journalists and co-sponsor Journalism and Media Studies Centre at the University of Hong Kong for the East-West Center's second biennial international media conference.
The conference, hosted on the University of Hong Kong campus, is open to all media professionals. Build new networks and information sources among an anticipated 200 plus journalists and other professionals from the United States and countries throughout Asia and the Pacific.
This event will provide on-the-ground updates on news and media issues in the world's most dynamic region through keynote speakers, panels of journalists and other professionals, media workshops, a pre-conference study tour to Southern China, and a post-conference excursion that will examine important issues in Hong Kong today.

Your registration fee includes conference materials, the Gala Dinner, three lunches, admission to all conference sessions, and a choice of a 1/2 day field trip in Hong Kong. All conference sessions will take place on the University of Hong Kong campus.

Participant Panels
Be a panelist! Submit a brief summary for consideration to mediaconference@eastwestcenter.org. You may propose an individual presentation or you may collaborate with fellow colleagues to propose a panel. Presentation summaries should not exceed 150 words.
You must register and pay the registration fee in order for your presentation to be considered.
If you would like to discuss panel options as you are making your decision to register, please write to mediaconference@eastwestcenter.org.

Pre-Conference Study Tour & Post-Conference Excursion
Sign-up for a pre-conference study tour in Southern China and a post-conference excursion in Hong Kong. These programs require an additional participation fee, separate from the conference registration.
Pre-Conference Study Tour to South China:
Shifting Dynamics in China's Pearl River Delta
April 22-25
This three-day study tour will explore the shifting dynamics in China's Pearl River Delta region, China's main export corridor. In visits to Shenzhen-- the once sleepy fishing village that is now a bustling, modern city of more than 10 million people-- and to still-developing Dongguan, participants will have an opportunity to learn about South China's past, present and future and see the various levels of development and industrial transformation there.

This one-day program in Hong Kong will include meetings with government, business, and community leaders to speak on the economy and other important Hong Kong issues.
