Spring 2005 Jefferson Fellowships
May 1 - 28, 2005
The Jefferson Fellowships, founded by the East-West Center in 1967, promote better public understanding of the United States, Asia and the Pacific through a program of dialogue, study and travel for mid- and senior-level print and broadcast journalists.

Journalists from the United States and Asia Pacific, learn from each other, as well as from scholars, business and labor leaders, government policymakers, social activists, media experts and others.

The program begins with a week of lectures and discussions on key regional issues led by experts from the East-West Center, University of Hawai‘i and the Honolulu community. The Fellows then undertake field study in Asia and the United States mainland to further their understanding of the issues.
