As part of the 50 th anniversary celebrations, a series of special events will be held throughout the year, including lectures, publications, and a large international conference in Honolulu during the first week of July, 2010.
To commemorate this milestone, the EWC plans to create a special promotional logo for all EWC materials and activities associated with the Center’s 50 th anniversary.
This promotional logo should be simple, but communicate the East-West Center’s mission of building a peaceful, prosperous and just Asia Pacific community. This logo may be used by itself, but primarily it will appear in conjunction with the Center’s established institutional logo.
The Center invites all East-West Center participants, alumni, stakeholders, friends, and the interested supporters to suggest design concepts. The concept does not need to be illustrated by a finished design; a rough sketch is welcome. The Center will use ideas and concepts from the submissions to create the final design. For more information contact: EWC50@EastWestCenter.org or call (808) 944-7111.
Concepts should be received by Tuesday, March 31, 2009.

The EAST-WEST CENTER is an education and research organization established by the U.S. Congress in 1960 to strengthen relations and understanding among the peoples and nations of Asia, the Pacific, and the United States. The Center contributes to a peaceful, prosperous and just Asia Pacific community by serving as a vigorous hub for cooperative research, education and dialogue on critical issues of common concern to the Asia Pacific region and the United States. Funding for the Center comes from the U.S. government, with additional support provided by private agencies, individuals, foundations, corporations and the governments of the region.
