Indonesia

Since 2003, AIJI has partnered with the Supreme Court of Indonesia to develop programs that support the Indonesian Human Rights Courts at both the trial and appellate levels. The principal focus of these programs has been to support the ongoing reform efforts of the Supreme Court in Indonesia, aimed at promoting judicial independence and the ‘rule of law’. AIJI programs have involved training workshops and seminars for judges, prosecutors and investigators of the National Human Rights Commission, as well as NGOs involved in trials and appeals in human rights cases. The workshops are conducted with our local partner, ELSAM, an established human rights NGO in Indonesia.

AIJI is currently looking for further funding to continue this project.
