Hong Kong Media Conference 2010
The East-West Center will host its second international Media Conference in Hong Kong. This event will cover important news and media issues in Asia, the Pacific Islands, and the United States. Scheduled for March 2010, the dates and venue will soon be announced. This professional networking conference will be open to all media professionals. The event will include keynote speakers and media panels, as well as pre- and post-conference trips to Southern China and Macau.

Some of the key speakers and highlights of the Bangkok Media Conference 2008 included:
- Surin Pitsuwan, Secretary General, Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
- Orville Schell, Arthur Ross Director of the Center on US-China Relations at the Asia Society, New York, New York, USA; and former Dean of the Graduate School of Journalism at the University of California, Berkeley, California, USA.
- Sheila Coronel, Director, Toni Stabile Center for Investigative Journalism, Columbia University, New York City, USA; 2003 Ramon Magsaysay Awardee for developing investigative journalism in the Philippines.
- Jimmy Lai, Founder/Chairman, Next Media Ltd., Hong Kong.
- Isaac Mao, co-founder of Social Brain Foundation and CNBlog.org--the earliest evangelizing site in China on grassroots publishing--who openly challenged Google to support anti-censorship.
- Panels included covering conflicts; blogging and new media; workshops on investigative reporting, enterprise reporting, web-based journalism and reporting on China; and many other topics.
