Abbigail Hull is a Projects Coordinator at the East-West Center in Washington, where she works with the Young Professional Program and coordinates the Asia Matters for America news articles. She also facilitates various communications such as the East-West Center in Washington’s newsletter and supporting events and outreach.

Previously, Abbigail Hull was a Program Associate at the Confucius Institute US Center, planning global education events and coordinating the center’s People-to-People essay contest and alumni program. During her time as a graduate student at American University, she was a research assistant for professors with expertise in China and the Philippines. Her capstone graduate project was a virtual monitoring and evaluation survey for a women and child protection NGO in the Philippines. 

In addition, Abbigail Hull has worked for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) in different capacities, which motivates her research and experience in faith based international development. She was an ELCA Young Adult in Global Mission volunteer in Cambodia from 2017-2018, where she worked for a local development NGO. After moving back to the states, she worked at the ELCA Advocacy Office in Washington, DC for a year as a hunger advocacy fellow. She has Mandarin Chinese language proficiency and participated in the State Department’s Critical Language Scholarship in Dalian, China in the summer of 2016. She also has some Khmer Language skills from her time in Cambodia.
