
Process improvement, project management, integration of technology and communication platforms
Kris Wee is a Program Assistant for the East-West Center in Honolulu, HI. Within the Professional Development Program, he provides administrative and technical support for all programs and initiatives of the US Department of State-funded Asia Pacific Media and Dialogue Initiative (APMDI).
Prior to joining EWC, Mr. Wee was a project manager for a local sustainability consulting firm, and served as an Operations Specialist in the United States Navy for nine years. Involved in a wide range of Hawaii-based projects, he collaborated with local organizations on sustainability reporting and certifications, optimizing facilities operations, and process mapping. During his time in military service, he has deployed to the Persian Gulf, Horn of Africa, multiple areas within the pacific area of operations, and Afghanistan.
Mr. Wee holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Trinity College in Hartford, CT; and a MA in Global Leadership and Sustainable Development with a professional certificate in Consulting from Hawaii Pacific University in Honolulu, HI.
