Administrative Assistant, Professional Development Program

As the Administrative Assistant to the Professional Development Program, Lillian provides complex and routine administrative assistance to the Director and staff of the Professional Development Program.  Lillian works independently, under the general supervision of the Director, uses a general understanding of the expected outcomes and the scope of the assignments, and draws upon experience in anticipating and resolving the more difficult situations that occasionally arise.

With over 40 years of providing support to various areas of the Center, Lillian witnessed first hand how technology changed the way the Center and the world operates:  from telex machines and calling in cable messages to emails, Zoom and MS-Team meetings; from floppy 5.25” disks to cloud storage; from carbon paper and onion skin (pink, white, yellow and blue!) to paperless office systems.  Lillian served the Manoa community as an adult leader for the Boy Scouts of America and on committees for her children’s school activities while working full time, raising three children, and earning a purple belt in karate.  She enjoys creating haku lei, bon dance, and perfecting her cannoli filling recipes.
