Ms. Saw Thinn serves as Program Assistant for the Professional Development Program at the East-West Center. Currently, she supports in program planning, coordination, administration and implementation of program related activities for Pacific Islands Tourism Professional Fellows Program, New York Times Licensing Project for Pacific Islands Media Outlets and Experiential Professional Development Program. Prior to that position, she worked for the Center’s Asia Pacific Leadership Program, Institute for Natural Resources Managers – Southeast Asia, and other customized leadership programs. Prior to joining the East-West Center, she worked for nonprofit and education sectors in Myanmar for over a decade. 

She received a B.A. (Honors) and an M.A. in English from the University of Yangon, Myanmar, and another M.A. in Global Leadership and Sustainable Development from Hawaii Pacific University. She was also a fellow of the Asia Pacific Leadership Program at the East-West Center in 2007–2008. Originally from Myanmar, in her spare time, she enjoys small-scaled sustainable farming in her second home Oahu, Hawaii.
