Celeste A. Connors is a recognized leader in sustainability with more than 20 years of experience designing and implementing economic, climate, and energy policy in government, non-governmental organizations, academia, and the private sector. As the Executive Director of Hawaii Green Growth Local2030 Hub, she leads a team that coordinates a membership organization to catalyze action across government, the private sector, and civil society to achieve Hawaii's 2030 sustainability goals and serve as a model for green growth. She is also CEO and Co-Founder of c.dots development LLC, an organization that works with investors, developers, governments, and philanthropic organizations to build new and innovative public-private partnerships to mobilize investments in sustainable infrastructure systems and services globally. Among her previous positions, Ms. Connors served as Professorial Lecturer and Practitioner in Residence with the Energy Resources, and Environment Program of the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies from 2012 to 2919 and Director for Environment and Climate Change in the White House National Security Council and National Economic Council from 2008 to 2012. Between 2000 and 2008, she held several positions in the US Department of State.
Ms. Connors is an Independent Director of Hawaiian Electric Industries, a Board Member of the Global Island Partnership and the University of Hawaii Institute for Sustainability and Resilience, and a Steering Committee Member of the City and County of Honolulu and 100RC Resilience Strategy.
In her various professional roles, Ms. Connors has successfully navigated complex inter-agency and multi-stakeholder processes to integrate sustainability and Environment, Social Governance (ESG) into policy, planning, and action. She has worked at the local, regional, national, and international level, including the United Nations, to deliver localized models for implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
