James E. (Jim) Nickum is Adjunct Senior Fellow in the Research Program. He was a Senior Fellow in the EWC Program in Environment from 1988-1996, directing projects on water use conflicts in Asia-Pacific metropolises and environmental governance, after which he moved to Japan. He subsequently worked with former EWC colleagues on projects on ecoconsciousness in Asia, water security in South Asia, and water economies of global cities.  Since 2007 he has served on the Executive Board of the International Water Resources Association, while serving as the Editor-in-Chief of the Association’s official journal, Water International. He is currently an international advisor to the Centre for Water Engineering and Policy at the University of Hong Kong and an Adjunct Research Professor in the Centre for Water and Development at SOAS, University of London, UK.

James E. (Jim) Nickum is Adjunct Senior Fellow in the Research Program.
