Jeffrey Hare is Deputy Director of Research at the East-West Center. He assists the Vice President and Director of Research with overall administrative and intellectual leadership for the Research Program, ensuring its activities and funding proposals are compatible with the Center’s mission and objectives while also contributing to the development and evaluation of current and future research opportunities.

Jeffrey has over 15 years of experience in directing and managing multidisciplinary research projects and programs. His most recent role was with the Research Corporation of the University of Hawai‘i (RCUH) where he served as their Deputy Director for the Cooperative Institute for Marine & Atmospheric Research (CIMAR).

Jeffrey's career accomplishments include conducting original research on air-sea interaction leading to numerous publications and presentations; leading the international coordination of air-sea research; securing funds and leading academic teams to conduct research coordinated with NOAA; and managing multi-million-dollar budgets in a multi-institutional environment.

Jeffrey received his Bachelors in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Cincinnati University, and his Masters and PhD of Meteorology from Penn State University. He is a member of the American Geophysical Union and the American Meteorological Society.
