Laurie Komatsu joined the East-West Center as Director of Philanthropic Partnerships in February 2023. She has over 20 years of philanthropic experience, including 11 years in higher education fundraising.
Most recently, Laurie served as the Senior Executive Director of Scholarship Development for the University of Hawaiʻi Foundation. Her professional experience also includes serving as Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations at the University of Hawaiʻi Foundation and in community relations roles at American Savings Bank and Hawaii Medical Service Association. Laurie received her bachelor’s in Communications Studies with a Minor in Business Administration from UCLA and her MBA and MPA from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.
