Visa and Passport Information

Participants are responsible for obtaining any required visas prior to departure for the U.S. Please ensure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond the end date of your visit and that you have sufficient pages in your passport for visa stamps. Please apply for your visa as soon as possible with your letter of invitation*. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, some U.S. embassies and consulates are experiencing significant delays in providing in-person appointments for visas.

Check the estimated wait times for embassies and consulates at: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/wait-times.html.

Information on visas to the U.S. can be found at: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas.html.

Find your country’s U.S. embassy or consulate’s webpage at: https://www.usembassy.gov/

*Note:  Letter of invitation is available only upon request to the Office of Alumni Engagement at: [email protected].

For participants who qualify for the visa waiver program, please be sure to have a valid biometric passport and you must register on-line through the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA).  ESTA applications may be submitted at any time prior to travel, though it is recommended travelers apply when they begin preparing travel plans. For more information on ESTA, please visit: https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta
