Eligibility
Persons eligible for visitor housing are individuals sponsored by Center staff, participants, or East West Center alumni, or persons having an educational affiliation/sponsorship. Children accompanied by parents are allowed to reside in Lincoln Hall.
Reservations
Reservations are normally confirmed six months prior to arrival on a space available basis. Allow at least one working day to process reservation requests.
Length of Stay
Visitors are limited to a maximum stay of 20 nights.
Meals
Some rooms in Lincoln Hall have kitchenettes. A variety of food outlets and cuisines are available on the UH campus, some in campus facilities and others in food trucks. At the Center, coffee and limited food items are available during the school year in front of Burns Hall at the corner of East-West Road and Dole Street. Groceries and food outlets are available in Mānoa Marketplace (in the valley north of the Center) and in the commercial center of Mo’ili’ili ( the neighborhood south of the Center), along King and Beretania streets.
Deposits, Sponsor/Requester Responsibility, and Penalty
Advance deposits are required. This will be waived if the sponsor/requester provides credit card information or guarantees payment in writing. The requester is responsible for the conduct of his/her guest(s) as well as any losses, damages, penalty charges, or unpaid room accounts.
A cancellation charge equal to one night's room charge will be assessed if a request is not canceled at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled arrival.
Notify the Housing Office of any changes in arrival or departure dates/time.
Check-ins & -outs
Check-ins & -outs are handled at the respective residence hall desks, except for at Hale Kuahine for which Hale Mānoa provides this service. Hale Manoa is open 24 hours. Lincoln Hall desk hours are 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Check-in time--2:00 p.m.
Check-out time--10:00 a.m.
Late check-outs will result in a room charge for one night. Please check with the Housing Office for exception to this policy.
Payment
Visitors are required to pay their room charges upon check-in. Mastercard, Visa, traveler's checks, and cash are accepted.
Rates for Visitors
East-West Center alumni are eligible for a discounted rate. Rates are subject to change.
Lincoln Hall
Lincoln Hall offers rooms with private bathrooms, telephone service, WiFi, and cable TV. Bedding, linen, and towels are provided. Rooms are cleaned Monday through Friday. Most apartment units have a double bed. Lincoln Hall rooms are not air conditioned.
- Standard Studio: Double bed (single or double occupancy) $85.00 per night
- Corner Studio: Two double beds (single or double occupancy) $105.00 per night
- Kitchen unit: Queen bed (single or double occupancy) $122.00 per night
