The Blue Economy Challenge is a hands-on innovation training and hackathon to build skills, networks, and knowledge to leverage ocean-related opportunities. As part of the U.N. Ocean Decade, Japanese university students and young professionals will validate their ideas and have the chance to convert them into actual pilot projects.  The hackathon will run online and is embedded in a 12-week online training. The event is funded by the U.S. Embassy Tokyo and powered by InnoDays.

ブルーエコノミーチャレンジとはイノーベーション人材育成研修です。９月２８日ー１２月７日まで、１２週間にわたって、日本の大学生と若手社会人は国連海洋の１０年を記念するために海洋に関わる課題を解決しながらスキル、交流、知識を深めていきます。プログラムは２つに別れ、①隔週の講演 ②４８時間ハッカソンで構成されています。研修を通じて、参加者はハッカソン向けの準備を行い、ハッカソンの提案をどのように実現できるかを確認していただきます。全プログラムはインターネット上で開催。最優秀のチームはハワイへの無料旅行を獲得し、イノベーション・エコシステムと投資家ピッチを発表していただきます。
