The opening of environmental data to the public is one of the foundational mechanisms China is using to promote public participation in tackling the issue of China’s serious air pollution. In order to test citizen satisfaction with the government’s environmental information disclosure policy and other clean air policies, Professor Wang’s research team conducted face-to-face interviews in the city of Xi’an, Shaanxi provence. Results reflect citizen’ attitudes and levels of satisfaction as well as suggestions for further action.
