Community Impact Projects - From Wednesday Evening Seminar Participants

Wednesday Evening Seminar is an East-West Center student-led initiative supported by the Education Program and a generous gift from Richard H. Cox. Any views, findings, conclusions, or recommendations expressed by presenters and participants at the Wednesday Evening Seminar do not necessarily reflect those of the East-West Center.

This final Wednesday Evening Seminar of the Fall 2017 semester will showcase the community impact projects of Wednesday Evening Seminar (WES) Participants and conclude with a celebratory reception.

The WES in Fall 2017 is arranged around the theme of Creative Community Impact, and guest speakers throughout the semester have been community leaders from a variety of fields. The final seminar of the series will reverse the usual format: instead of students listening to presentations, the students have been invited to present their own community impact projects on stage to each other and to invited guests from the community.

For the student presenters and guests, the evening will conclude with a celebratory meal in the dining room (Wailana Room) where students and guests may follow up with each other to network in an informal setting.

The goals of this evening are to give students a chance to feature their semester-long work, and to connect students with established members of the East-West Center and Hawaiʻi communities who may share common interests.
