An illustrated lecture by Dr. Arjumand Faisel

Dr. Arjumand Faisel will present a noon brown bag PowerPoint event, briefly showing works of the masters, then the evolution, and finally the important works of contemporary artists in Pakistan.

He has been collaborating with EWC Curator Michael Schuster in the preparation of the newest EWC exhibition, "Unseen Visions: Contemporary Painting in Pakistan," which opens April 13.  He received his MPH as an EWC degree fellow in 1988, and currently serves as President of the Islamabad Chapter of the EWC Association.

He is a public health specialist who has also immersed himself in the arts world and is a respected painter himself, having held his first group show in 1972 at the age of eighteen.  His varied artistic output has ranged from calligraphy to clay. In recent years, his medical work and also his artistic work have brought to the public forefront the plight of sex workers.
