The Pacific Drought Knowledge Exchange (PDKE) seeks to facilitate collaborative relationships between scientist’s and resource managers in Hawaii and in Pacific Island Nations. The PDKE works to produce site specific, customized climate and drought related information and products through active co-production model of engagement. The PDKE strives to make data, information, and data products more accessible to stakeholders so it can be used in planning and resilience building initiatives. This talk will highlight past achievements, ongoing projects, and future trajectories of the PDKE.
Dr. Ryan Longman is a Fellow in the Research Program at the East-West Center working closely with the Pacific Islands Development Program. His research is focused on monitoring, acquisition, quality control, product creation, and dissemination of climate data in the Pacific. He is most interested in doing work that builds adaptive capacities, promotes cultural stewardship, and improves environmental awareness.
