In wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, regional competition, climate change, and other current US, Asia, and Indo-Pacific pressing issues, it was a top priority for East-West Center (EWC) to develop a plan that seeks to bring forth a new era of renewed impact. The Center’s stakeholders collaborated to create an institutionally unifying, impact-oriented strategic framework.

Led by President Suzanne Vares-Lum, with guidance from the EWC Board of Governors and in collaboration with EWC staff and alumni, the new Strategic Plan covers the EWC priorities over the next five years (2023-2027):

  • Developing and Equipping Leaders
  • Convening Impactful Dialogues
  • Partnering with the Pacific Islands
  • Fostering Environmental Solutions
  • Supporting Good Governance

Join us on Tuesday, August 23, to learn more about these five priority areas and how EWC programs will prioritize, align, and implement the strategies to achieve the Center’s mission and vision. President Vares-Lum will share how you can join the EWC in our efforts to create a future focused on growth, peace, and prosperity.
