This small project is a dissemination activity associated with the EWC-KIHASA project on Policy Responses to Rapidly Aging Populations (Choe, PI).

In May 2017, the International Union for the Scientific Study of Population (IUSSP) set up a panel on Family Demography and Family Law. One of the goals of the Panel is to organize sessions on this theme at international population conferences.

As a member of the panel, I organized a session at the forthcoming 4th Asian Population Association Conference to be held in Shanghai, China during 11-14 July, 2018. The title of the session will be “Family Law, Public Policy, and Family Behavior.” The panel has been organized through selections from submissions to the general “Call for Abstracts” for the Conference.  The session will have four paper presentations listed below. I will be the formal discussant.

1.      “Significance of family-friendly measures on fertility  in Hong Kong” by Gigi Lam, Yuruo Yan, Edward Jow-Ching Tu, Tung Wah College, Hong Kong

2.      “Generational Difference in Women’s Fertility Intentions under China’s Two-Child Policy” by Yingchun Ji, Huiguang Wang, Yue Liu, Ruonan Xu, Shanghai University, Shanghai, China

3.     “The Use of Family-Friendly Programs and Its Impact on Fertility Intention in Korea” by Ki Tae Park, University of Hawaii, Honolulu, U.S.A.

4.     “Innovation in the model of adolescent friendly health corners to expand sexual and reproductive health services in Bangladesh- success and challenges” by Sigma Ainul, Iqbal Ehsan, Population Council, Dhaka, Bangladesh
