On November 26, 2008 the Taj Mahal Palace hotel in Mumbai, India was stormed by terrorists.  Raymond Bickson, then Managing Director and CEO of the Taj Hotel Group, will talk about how the hotel staff and his company dealt with the siege and, more broadly, about security challenges facing both tourists and the tourist industry in today’s world.

A true hotelier, Raymond N. Bickson has 40 years of global hospitality industry experience. At Bickson Hospitality Group LLC, he heads a global consultancy for all facets of hospitality management. Previously, Raymond spent 12 years in Mumbai as Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer for Taj Hotel Group, growing the company’s $1 billion portfolio from 62 hotels to 137 properties under four differentiated brands while also overseeing diversified interests in transportation, airline catering and real estate.  His prior experience includes 27 years in management positions with the Rafael Group Hoteliers and Regent International Hotels. He is a graduate of Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne and holds advanced management certificates from Harvard Business School and Cornell Hotel School.

Admission is free but seating is limited.
