What:

Mary Townswick, a twenty-year veteran of the U.S. Foreign Service, will discuss her recent experiences working at  high-threat U.S. Embassies in Kabul, Afghanistan, and Islamabad, Pakistan.  Ms. Townswick is a Visiting Fellow and East-West Center's current Diplomat-in-Residence. Her assignments with the State Department have included Karachi, Bangui, New Delhi, Geneva, Berlin, Kabul, and Islamabad. She speaks fluent French and German, and has extensive knowledge of Dari and Urdu. Ms. Townswick has master degrees in business administration and international relations.
