Please join as at this free public conference presented by the East-West Center, the Worldwide Uchinanchu Business Network (WUB) and the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology.

In addition to a rich cultural heritage, Okinawa and Hawaiʻi share a vision to fuel their economic engines and create global leaders by investing in scientific, technical, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education and research. At this conference, experts, distinguished guests, and the audience will discuss the world-changing mission of STEM education and research.

Keynote Speaker:

Dr. Peter Gruss
President/CEO, Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST)

Recognized worldwide for his research in gene regulation and embryonic development, Dr. Gruss was President of the Max Planck Society from 2002-2014. A leader in technology transfer and innovation, he co-founded a biopharmaceutical company and chairs the Siemens Technology and Innovation Council.
