This concert will feature one of Japan's top shamisen masters, Hidetaro Honjo and his star student, Hidejiro Honjo. Local musicians Christopher Yohmei Blasdel (shakuhachi) and Mika Kimula (voice) will join them for a program of contemporary compositions that showcase the depth and capabilties of both the instruments and the players. The program will also include a world premiere by Japanese composer Kumiko Takahashi.
