The Tenth Meeting of Working Group on Macroeconomic Aspects of Intergenerational Transfer: International Symposium on Demographic Change and Policy Response will take place at Peking University, Beijing, China, November 10-14, 2014. The meeting is co-sponsored by the Center for the Economics and Demography of Aging, University of California at Berkeley, the Institute of Labor of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the National Development School, Beijing University, and the East-West Center.  Additional support is being provided by the Bill & Melinda Gates Institute of Population and Reproductive Health at Johns Hopkins University, the Hewlett Foundation, the World Bank, and the International Development Research Centre.  The Tenth Meeting of Working Group on Macroeconomic Aspects of Intergenerational Transfer will consist of workshops on County Women's Work, the fiscal impact of population aging, and other topics.  Members of the global NTA network and other scholars in China will be presenting papers on the theoretical foundations and applications for National Transfer Account research and other related studies encompassing economic development, social security reform, population aging, population policy, and related topics.  Expert panels will explore the policy implications of population change in developing and aging societies.  The keynote address will be given by Thomas Piketty, Paris School of Economics.
