Arfa Sayeda Zehra is a Professor Emerita of History at Forman Christian College in Lahore, Pakistan where she specialized in culture and intellectual history. Her commitment to teaching excellence has won her national acclaim in Pakistan where she has received two Lifetime Achievement Awards and the highly-regarded Fatima Jinnah Award. She serves on numerous boards of higher learning institutions and academic organizations, including on the Board of Governors of the prestigious National College of Arts – Lahore. She was appointed Chairperson, with the rank of Federal State Minister, for the National Commission on the Status of Women and was invited to give a lecture by the United Nations Women at UN Headquarters, New York. Zehra was a PhD grantee at the East-West Center from 1978-82 and has shown dedication and commitment to the Center ever since. She has served as leader of the EWCA Lahore Chapter in Pakistan from 2005-2015 and under her leadership the chapter received the outstanding chapter award in 2014. In 2016 she received an East-West Center Distinguished Alumni Award.
