The United States Asia Pacific Council (USAPC), a project of the East-West Center, will hold its 5th Annual Washington Conference, "The United States and the Asia Pacific: New Challenges in a Changing Environment," on April 11, 2008 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, 1000 H Street, NW, Washington, D.C., from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

 

Join us for a day-long program that will feature the commentary of distinguished experts from business, government, and policy institutions about such salient topics as (1) Asia's changing role in global trade and finance, (2) emerging problems in key U.S. bilateral relations, (3) Congressional initiatives toward Asia, and (4) trends in Asian and U.S. public opinion. The conference keynote speaker will be John D. Negroponte, Deputy Secretary of State. James Shinn, Assistant Secretary of Defense for Asian and Pacific Security Affairs, will be the luncheon speaker.
