The Smart City Strategic Visioning and Capacity-Building Workshop is an essential first step in an inclusive change process of becoming “smart.” The workshop is designed to enhance the readiness of local governments in West Java Province to more effectively negotiate the digital transformation of their own cities and communities by increasing their capacities to strategize, influence and decide.  The Smart City Strategic Visioning and Capacity Building Workshops are being organized under the EWC’s Smart Cities Initiative and delivered by a team of expert trainers/facilitators who have extensive experience in impactful visioning, leadership and navigational change processes and techniques.  Hawaii-based experts in disaster management and tourism development  and a US-mainland expert on municipal/county smart city development will serve as team resources, providing participants with concrete examples of how the visioning, foresight and change management concepts can be applied to the use of appropriate smart technologies in these specific areas.
