The Asia Pacific Center for Journalists at the East-West Center in Honolulu leads the region in the vast array of programs and resources it offers journalists on Asia Pacific issues, including fellowship travel programs for American, Asian and Pacific island journalists; a news service providing diverse commentary and analysis on breaking and ongoing Asia Pacific stories; and quick access to the East-West Center's specialists and network of experts.

  • International Media Conference: held every two years in major Asia Pacific media hub. Offers a professional networking opportunity for journalists from the US, Asia and Pacific to discuss key issues in the region and common challenges and trends in media. Includes updates from journalists and experts plus media workshops.
  • East-West Wire: brief emailed reports with information, analysis and “quotable quotes” on the news of the day in the Asia-Pacific region and on U.S.-Asia Pacific issues. The reports include quick contact information for deadline interviews with international experts offering diverse perspectives.
  • News Releases provide information about current events, research,  publications, and other newsworthy developments at the EWC.
  • EWC in the News  provides links to the latest worldwide news coverage of the EWC and its specialists.
  • Directory to the East-West Center's international specialists on politics and security, economics and energy, environment and climate change, disaster prevention and management, population and health, education, arts and culture, and the Pacific Islands. Direct contact information included.
