EWC 2009 Annual Report Available

The East-West Center’s 2009 Annual Report is now available on-line for download .

In the report, feature articles of select EWC activities from throughout the year cover the PECC Conference in Washington, D.C. ; the Election Observation Mission in the Federated States of Micronesia ; the Asian International Justice Initiative’s human rights training and outreach projects in Southeast Asia ; and a new EWC program that cultivates leaders in environmental stewardship .

The report also includes brief highlights from the Center’s Research , Education , Seminars , EWC in Washington , External Affairs , and EWC Foundation sections that reflect the diverse range of activities at the Center.

“As the Center prepared to mark the important milestone of its 50th year, it recommitted itself to its core values of collaboration, expertise, and leadership,” EWC President Charles E. Morrison and Board of Governors Chairman Puongpun Sananikone state in their introduction to the report. “These values, and the ideals behind them that gave birth to the Center half a century ago, are needed more than ever in the globalized 21st century world, and we intend to continue setting the pace.”

Rounding out the report is an informational section including a brief financial summary, lists of major gifts to East-West Center Foundation, along with directories of Center board and advisory panel members, alumni chapter leaders, program directors and corporate officers.

Also available is a special online supplement to the printed report, offering a more detailed financial review and in-depth participant statistics.
