EWC Annual Report Available Online

The East-West Center’s most recent Annual Report, for calendar year 2007, is now available for download online.

In a new, streamlined format, the report offers highlights and photographs of selected EWC activities during the year, including the Pacific Islands Conference of Leaders in Washington, D.C.; the Center’s expanding student enrollment and involvement; the Asian International Justice Initiative’s training work with the international Khmer Rouge tribunal in Cambodia; the hands-on civic engagement of the Partnership for Youth educational program; and EWC alumni making a difference around the region.

New to the Annual Report this year is a colorful month-by-month calendar featuring selected Center events, programs and publications throughout the year. Another special feature is a Living Legacy page honoring the donors and recipients of special scholarship endowments that help make the Center’s educational programs accessible to all qualified students, regardless of their economic resources.

“A strong focus on cooperation and leadership imbues every program at the Center,” EWC President Charles E. Morrison and former Board of Governors Chairman Roland Lagareta write in their introduction to the report. “From our Hawai‘i headquarters and Washington office, we work each year in partnership with more than 650 organizations spanning the region and globe …. We seek to share substantive knowledge while building the cross-cultural communication and teamwork skills necessary for leadership success in the 21st century.”

Rounding out the report is an informational section including a brief financial summary, lists of EWC participant awards by country and major gifts to East-West Center Foundation, along with directories of Center board and advisory panel members, alumni chapter leaders, program directors and corporate officers.

Also available is a special online supplement to the printed report, offering a more detailed financial review and in-depth participant statistics.
