OFFICE/DEPARTMENT

In a special pre-release event, the East-West Center’s forthcoming Taiwan Matters for America/America Matters for Taiwan publication was presented to the President of Taiwan, Tsai Ing-Wen, the Director of the American Institute in Taiwan, Sandra Oudkirk, and other important officials attending the American Chamber of Commerce in Taiwan’s annual Hsieh Nien Fan banquet. The Chamber’s 54th annual banquet, which was attended by 550 people, including 140 government officials, celebrated their support for joint initiatives that highlight US-Taiwan collaborations, including the East-West Center’s upcoming collaboration with AmCham Taiwan, the Taiwan Matters for America/America Matters for Taiwan publication.

Taiwan Matters for America/America Matters for Taiwan explores the trade, investment, employment, business, diplomacy, security, education, tourism, and people-to-people connections between the United States and Taiwan at the national, state, and local levels.

The inaugural publication will be formally launched later in 2022, but a series of online articles, data visualizations, and information about the US-Taiwan relationship is available now on the Asia Matters for America website.
