The East-West Center, with the support of the Korea Economic Institute and the CHEY Institute for Advanced Studies, will launch a new edition of Korea Matters for
America / America Matters for Korea, a premier resource for data and analysis on the relationship between the United States and Korea relating to diplomacy, security, trade and investment, education and cultural exchanges, and more.  

The Korea Matters for America / America Matters for Korea publication and website maps the trade, investment, employment, business, diplomacy, security, education, tourism, and people-to-people connections between the United States and Korea at national, state, and local levels. The Asia Matters for America initiative is a collaborative partnership with US and Indo-Pacific government, private sector, and civil society stakeholders to recognize and advance the robust and dynamic US-Indo-Pacific relationship. Funding for the Korea Matters for America / America Matters for Korea project was provided by the Korea Economic Institute and the CHEY Institute for Advanced Studies. 

Produced by the East-West Center, the Korea Economic Institute, and the CHEY Institute for Advanced Studies, this edition of Korea Matters for America / America Matters for Korea brings to light important facts and figures that include: 

  • The United States and South Korea share deep economic, military, and democratic partnerships as well as an enduring commitment to democratic values; 
  • The US-South Korea alliance contributes to regional security and supports international engagement;
