Lee-Jay Cho Endowed Chair


The East-West Center is pleased to announce the Lee-Jay Cho Endowed Chair, established through the generosity of donors in the Asia-Pacific region in honor of Lee-Jay Cho’s many contributions to improved understanding and relations among the countries of Asia and the Pacific. The Lee-Jay Cho Endowed Chair shall be awarded annually to one or more researchers with a distinguished record or extraordinary promise and an interest in the Korean economy, particularly in the context of the political economy and international relations of Northeast Asia.

Terms of the fellowship are flexible. Fellows will be based in the Center’s Research Program in Honolulu and are expected to: (a) reside and conduct research at the East-West Center for a period of three to six months; (b) submit a report on their research, acknowledging support; and (c) present a public seminar at the East-West Center.

Nominations for this position should include the following:

  • A statement indicating the nominee’s interest and period of availability
  • A current Curriculum Vitae (including U.S. visa status, if applicable)
  • A brief research plan
