IMPORTANT NOTICE: The East-West Center is following the State of Hawai'i's emergency stay-at-home order currently in effect through April 30.

Public access to all EWC offices and buildings is suspended until further notice. All EWC public events scheduled through May 11th have been cancelled or postponed, and all non-essential staff are being required to work from home. These measures apply to both the Center’s Honolulu campus and its Washington, DC, office.

EWC housing facilities remain open for current residents, but no new reservations will be accepted until May 11th at the earliest. Residents should see the East-West Center COVID-19 FAQ for further important information.

  • East-West Center COVID-19 FAQ: This page includes information pertinent to East-West Center housing residents. It will be updated as more information becomes available.
     
  • East-West Center Gallery closed until at least May 11. Updates on rescheduled activities will be provided as soon as possible.
     
  • Housing and conference reservations on hold: No new EWC housing or conference center reservations requests will be accepted before May 11. Please contact the EWC housing office or conference center for further information.
     
  • 60th anniversary alumni conference postponed until summer 2021. After much consideration, EWC management has reluctantly made the decision to postpone the 60th anniversary international alumni conference originally scheduled for June 30-July 2 in Honolulu. Those who have already paid a registration fee will be refunded in full. Given the uncertainty and rapidly changing environment, the conference has been tentatively rescheduled for the summer of 2021. Read more.
     
  • East-West Fest delayed until April 2021. The Center's annual student-led East-West Fest celebration of cultural diversity has been called off for this year and rescheduled for April 11, 2021.
     
  • Hawaii Alumni Chapter Fundraising Dinner Postponed. A new date, tenatively in the fall, will be announced as soon as possible for the annual dinner, originally scheduled for April 19 in Honolulu. Proceeds from the event support travel scholarships for EWC students to attend professional conferences. For more information, please contact: ewca.hichap@yahoo.com.
