An enjoyable evening of socializing with your EWC friends, old and new!

This year we will honor Patricia "Pat" Masters, PhD, with the annual EWCA Hawai'i Chapter Outstanding Service Award. A former EWC grantee, Pat has served on the EWCA Hawai'i Chapter Board for many years, and through her volunteer service is proud to have had the good fortune to "give back" to the EWC for the wonderful opportunity afforded to her through a grant/scholarship award earlier in her career.   A scholar and an ordained Buddhist nun of many accomplishments, Pat is most recently the author of the book "Searching for Mary Foster," which reveals the remarkable story of the namesake of Foster Botanical Garden, a 19th-century Native Hawaiian Buddhist, philanthropist, and social activist whose history intertwines with that of Honpa Hongwanji Mission in Hawai’i (HHMH).
