Humane Artificial Intelligence is an intercultural, intergenerational, and interdisciplinary initiative for engaging the societal outcomes and opportunities that are emerging with advances in artificial intelligence, robotics, machine learning, and big data. The initiative aims: to establish an ongoing forum for exploring differences in understanding the goal of aligning artificial intelligence with human values and societal wellbeing; to foster globally-shared commitments to equitable and humane artificial intelligence; and, to explore emerging perspectives on the evolving interplay of people and intelligent technology.
The centerpiece of the Humane AI Initiative is a series of international symposiums that bring together academics, policy professionals, technologists, and creative artists to form diversity-rich communities of inquiry and contribute to discussion-driven examinations of the ethical, social, political, economic, legal and cultural ramifications of digital technologies. Through its Working Paper Series, the Initiative also provides an ongoing, online forum for sharing and receiving feedback on new research, public policy reflections, and commentaries on emerging developments in AI.
